Toyota Dream Car Art Contest invites children from all corners of the globe
to share ideas about the future of mobility by drawing their dream cars.
Al Sayer Group Holding, one of the largest conglomerates in Kuwait recently held a ceremony at Toyota Showroom Al Rai to announce the national winners of the 10th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest, one of the largest global art contests for children. The event was attended by representatives from Al Sayer including Micheal Smith - Group Chief Financial Officer, Mohamed Elassal - General Manager, Vehicle Sales Retail, Nehad Mohammad Haj Ali – Deputy Group Manager Corporate Excellence, Deya Ragab Mohamed Khodair - Senior Manager, Vehicle Sales, Shibu Mohamed, CSR Manager along with jury members, delegates from school authorities, participants and their parents.
According to Mubarak Naser Al Sayer, CEO Al Sayer Group Holding “Toyota and Al Sayer are keen to develop the young talents of Kuwait. We wish to motivate them, providing such platforms to express their creativity to inspire their dreams come true. Toyota Dream Car Art Contest differentiate itself by having national and global level contest. The national level winner move forward to participate at the global level contest in Japan, where many experts view and evaluate it. From Al Sayer we are taking all efforts to make Kuwait talents to be noticed by international experts.”
For the 2016 edition of the contest 27 schools from Kuwait across Arab, Asian and International streams had participated, 2500 imaginative and impressive artworks were collected. 9 National level winners were awarded at the event, 3 winners each from the competing age groups up to 8 years, 8 – 11 years and 12 – 15 years. Due to the tough competition faced, additionally 16 participants also received consolation prizes as per nominated by the jury to encourage the young minds. During the ceremony 22 participating schools were presented with memento in recognition of their active participation and five members of the jury were also honored.
Mike Smith, Group Chief Financial Officer said “We appreciate the efforts of expert jury panel consisting of Margaret E Graham, Maryam Hosseinnia, William J Andersen, M.V JOHN, Mustafa Choorappulan for following a comprehensive evaluation process as well as for the valuable inputs to select talented candidates based on Toyota rigorous selection criteria. Most of the final drawings were excellent however winners were determined through clarity of message, uniqueness and amazing concepts.”
“Toyota Dream Car Art contest is a celebration for children. They have been enthusiastic about participating in this competition, we all know the excitement of kids when you talk about cars of their dreams. For some it’s about passion and speed, some look betterment of the environment and society while for some its supernatural car to fly to mars or to go under water. For sure amazing ideas are born from dreams and they have the power to inspire the world” said the principal from one of the participating schools.
National winners from across the globe proceed to the Global Contest. Winners of the global contest will be awarded at a special ceremony during August in Japan.
