Group Committed to Spread the Message in Kuwait
Strengthening its commitment towards planet earth, Al Sayer Group voluntarily participated in the Earth Hour 2016, to uphold its assurance to continue with its steady steps to curb climate change. Al Sayer Business units, Toyota Sales & Services, and Lexus units came together to shine a light on the climate action our planet needs by switching off unnecessary lights (external & internal lights) and electrical appliances at most of group sites across the state of Kuwait On March 19th, 2016 from 08:30 pm. to 09:30 pm.
This year, WWF and Earth Hour teams used the Earth Hour movement to engage people in critical climate conversations and solutions, and Al Sayer Group joined in the move. Al Sayer Group is conducting activities to create awareness on recycling, to reduce waste and carbon emissions, and keep running campaigns in Kuwait to promote climate awareness and actions to be taken.
On this occasion Eng. Nehad Al Haj Ali, Manager Al Sayer Group Corporate Excellence said “The need for climate action is the responsibility of every individual now. This year, WWF and Earth Hour teams used the Earth Hour movement to engage people in critical climate conversations, solutions and by seeing alarming climate change in every corner of the world, we from Al Sayer is committed to do our best from corporate to individual level".
Since starting as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007, the Earth Hour has grown to engage more than 7000 cities and towns worldwide. Today, Earth Hour engages a massive mainstream community on a broad range of environmental issues. The one-hour event continues to remain the key driver of the now larger movement. Earth hour is a global movement intended to make a powerful statement for climate action.
This year’s participation comes as a part of Al-Sayer Group policy in sustainability and social responsibility towards the environment, which aims to raise environmental awareness for its employees, customers and the public by raising their awareness of the importance of protecting the earth from carbon and heat emissions that are released from electricity generation stations which adversely affect the safety of the environment, and motivate them to change their habits by proper use of natural resources without any extravagance to be more sustainable .
Al Sayer Group believes in safeguarding future generations to inherit a clean and healthy environment, preserving the environment and reduction of pollution will remain an established principal and integral part of its policy for sustainability and social responsibility.
